Teachers' Day
Yesterday was the first time I didn't celebrate Teachers' Day in school and kind of miss the joy of opening up presents and the fun reading the cards that my kids create. However, 7 of my gals did pay me a visit at my cafe. Others sent their wishes to me through smses or left messages on my blog. I grateful to them for remembering me on this special day. But what touched me most was when 2 of my ex-students (now in Poly) treated me to dinner at Tao Restaurant. It was a special dinner as that was our first time there and we were impressed by the service provided. But the touching part was that both of them, Yiting and Xueshi, were willing to treat me to the expensive dinner even when they do not earn an income. I really appreciate their gesture and would surely remember the dinner for a long, long time to come.
Felt really good to be treated like a teacher again even though I am no longer one. As the saying goes, 'To teach is to touch hearts'. Indeed, I'm must have somehow touched their hearts and now they are touching mine. Thanks all of you for an unforgettable and special Teachers' Day.
